Main Street Audit ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by Marketing Main Street. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our website audit tool at mainstreetaudit.com.

Information We Collect

When you use Main Street Audit, we collect:

• Email address -- provided when you request a free scan or purchase a full report. Used to deliver your report and, when you provide it on a scan form, to add you to the Marketing Main Street monthly newsletter (one email a month; unsubscribe with one click in any issue). Nothing else.
• Website URL -- the URL you submit for scanning. We scan this URL using automated tools (axe-core accessibility scanner and Google PageSpeed Insights) to generate your report.
• Payment information -- processed by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card number. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment processing.
• Usage data -- basic server logs (IP address, timestamp, pages visited) retained for security and debugging purposes.

How We Use Your Information

• To run the website audit and deliver your report by email.
• To process payment for full reports via Stripe.
• To respond to questions or support requests.
• To improve the accuracy and coverage of our scanning tools.

We do not sell your information. We do not share your email address with third parties except as required to deliver your report (Resend, our email delivery provider) and to send the monthly newsletter (beehiiv, our newsletter platform).

Facebook and Meta Integration

Main Street Audit uses the Meta (Facebook) platform to authenticate certain features. When you authorize our application:

• We access only the permissions you explicitly grant.
• We use page access tokens solely to publish content on Facebook Pages you manage on your behalf.
• We do not store personally identifiable Facebook user data beyond what is necessary to maintain your connection.
• You may revoke our access at any time through your Facebook Settings under Apps and Websites.

User Data Deletion

To request deletion of your data, email us at [email protected] with the subject line "Data Deletion Request." We will delete your email address and any associated scan records within 30 days. Payment records are retained as required by law.

If you connected a Facebook account and wish to remove that authorization, you can do so directly in your Facebook Settings under Apps and Websites, or by emailing the address above.

Cookies

We do not use tracking cookies. Stripe may set cookies as part of the payment process; these are governed by Stripe's privacy policy.

Data Retention

Free scan results are retained for 7 days. Paid report URLs are active for 30 days, after which the report data is deleted. Email addresses are retained until you request deletion. Unsubscribing from the newsletter removes you from the newsletter list only; a deletion request removes the address everywhere.

Third-Party Services

• Google PageSpeed Insights -- performance scoring. Subject to Google's privacy policy.
• Cloudflare -- this site is served through Cloudflare's network, which also runs Cloudflare Web Analytics for us: a cookieless page-view counter that records no personal identifiers and sets nothing in your browser. Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We do not store payment credentials. Access to scan data is limited to the report URL, which is unique and not publicly indexed.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of Main Street Audit after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
